8 Years Voluntary Fire Fighter in Namibia Swakopmund.
About Me:
To be honest, some times I wonder why I am still doing this sh*t, but then again most of the times I feel proud to be part of a unique family. Like helping others, the sound of sirens and a cold beer after a hot call.

Hope that doesn't sound too corny...

Hello Friend how are things there. Here I just worked a 72 hour shift yesterday (monday) I slept and just sat and watched some T.V. I have to say it was pure hell. Saturday night into Sunday was pure chaos on one call I was bit by a drunk bitch ...........pardon the language. I will try to make some more photos today when I go into town. How did Saturday go for you hope you did well. Maybe some time this week we can chat again on Skype. Chat with you later.

I am also getting photo's from the Fire Marshall that was on scene. Later I will give you a little insight how we operate I have more issue to talk about first. I do not know if you know this but I use window's movie maker when I mess around with my helmet camera you can pull still photos from that program I love it I also added them on this site to. About the earth quake it sounded worse than what it was from what I see in the NEWS some people could feel it here in Michigan I was at work and on calls at that point in time I did not feel anything. I am glad you are doing better I know you still have some hard times I think about were you are at this point in time in your healing. Just between me and you I to have had some issue's just this past week some of those memories just sneak up on you and bang there they are right in front of you. But enough about that what type of weapon do you shoot? I own a 22 cal. rifle, a 20 ga. and 12 ga. shot gun and a 382 pistol. oh and a Bow to. I used to go hunting not so much anymore. I have not been in the last 3 years I enjoy sitting in the woods it is peaceful was always a bad hunter the only way I ever got a deer  was with my car on the freeway LOL. Oh well but know that I have talked your ear off I will let you go be safe good luck with the new helmet cam be looking for your video be safe bye for now.

No problem friend. I am glad to hear from you. Me and you have some things in common I would love to join a shooting club I can go out and shoot but it would be more enjoyable to do for competition. We have clubs around but they are some distance away. I am glad that some of my advice can work for you. I do have a skype account my skype name is firefighterdog1. be looking forward to a conversation with you. I will also be looking forward to your video I think to me it is a hobby to learn about other departments. I have to get some thing off my chest speaking of departments our City Mayor laid off 18 of our firefighters we went from daily staffing of 14 to 10 just prior to the drop in staffing I was working 96 hour work weeks trying to maintain 14 on duty per day now we operate 1 fire engine with 3 ambulance's this is very stupid and unsafe. Just a little info on our City we cover 24 square miles we have about 66,000 residents and pull 8000 calls a year about a 1000 of them are fire related calls. If this fire at Wendy's happen now we would kill our self's trying to put it out. By the way yes it got a little warm up there LOL.

Hi Corne, First please do not feel bad for telling me all of this my mother in-law used to have a saying and I believe it with all my heart she would say everything happens for a reason I believe we meet just before this horrible time in your life so maybe I could help in some small way. The feelings that you told me in your last post are normal it is O.K to show a little emotion cause it lets everyone know you are human. Professional help I do not believe is needed talking about how you feel will help in so many ways. If you can not talk to anyone write in a Journal/diary it sounds strange but it works it helps take the weight off your shoulder and this could help you sleep to.........Sleeping was my biggest problem try to find something that makes you tired read a book, work out with weights.......Night time is when your mind wanders. The empty feeling in your heart will get better you ask the question when did I get better? Many weeks after I looked back and that is when I noticed that I have improved this is also when I could see how my life had changed in many ways .... you may find that you have picked up new hobbies that has helped you cope with this. I hope I do not offend you in anyway on my next statement but your friend will always be with you it is not a bad thing if you can't go to sleep to talk to him tell him about things that happen in your day. You will feel a calming sensation this is him letting you know he is there.and it is O.K. I will let you go now I think about you every day cause I know the pain you feel.

Hello Friend, Let me start off with thank you for your concern but my pain is no more or less than yours when you loose someone close to you in an unexpected way it hurts. I just wanted you to know my concern for you and my understanding for your pain is true I did not tell it to you for sympathy. I wanted you to know that I speak to you from experience and of ways that helped me through my darkest hours. The stuff you have told me that you have done for your friend must help in some ways...... you did him justice. The place you talk about sounds beautiful, sounds like a place I could enjoy. I hope from the bottom of my heart you are doing better. Like I have told you before if you ever want to let some things off your mind and feel like typing a lot I will be here. I know there are some things you just can't tell your close friends and family of fear of what they may think. I am glad to hear from you stay safe.

I wish I could help you the only way I can though is I have an ear for you. If you want some ways to help is by talking about your feelings or tell me about the good times you have had with your friend or better yet tell me about him so his memory will live on. July 23 was a year since we lost one of our police officers He was killed in the line of duty I had the awful job of trying to save his life I just talked to him a few hours before it happen. This is just one of my story's of Tragic things in my life My Mother in-law was also murdered and I had to see the scene photo's of what happen to her. I speak from experience I can only tell you what has helped me. I am a stranger to you but we are family due to our jobs that we choose to do. I will be here for you I hate to see my brothers hurting. We like to help it is who we are and it is what we do.

No problem about face book. I love my helmet camera I was the first in my department to have one I thought people would make fun of me for the longest time only 2 people knew about it then we had a fire that was a fatal fire and we almost went through the floor there was a lot of lessons that could be learned from the video so I went to the Chief with it every one loves it and now everybody wants one the Chief wanted to buy all the Officers one but that never happen. I will be waiting for your photos and by the way I hate how big our fire trucks are there is no need for it.
