We're gettin' killed on the money side. And manpower we're light but working on it!!

As of 4/9/09 I am Chief of Department. A few more headaches but nothing we can`t handle.The ground is still wet here,having a hard time getting grass fires put. Yeah the tops of the grass is dry and its all hand work,indian buckets and beaters.
How is everything out east?Is money and man power big issues with your dept.?.......Be Safe!!!

Snow and rain have put a stop to the grass fires.We were going out 3 plus times a day for several days in a row. How are things on the east coast? Hope all is well,Be Safe!!!!!

120-150 calls per year.That high number is fueled by 50-60 grass fires every spring.And they are set mostly by farmers on the hottest day of the year and don`t forget a good 35-40 mph wind to go with it.Others are working fires 12-14,ambulance asst are on the rise every year,co detecters,MVA`s. You name it, it happens.....Be Safe Wayne.

Looks like a lot of work went into this page.By the pics you see more working fires and rescues than this rural Iowa volunteer.
